First of all, you need to understand several ways of powering the camera in the video surveillance project.
First, centralized power supply
Centralized power supply refers to a method in which source equipment is centrally installed in a power room and a battery room, and communication electrical energy is uniformly converted and distributed to supply power to each communication device.
The advantages of the centralized power supply scheme are that the power supply scheme is controlled and managed in a unified manner, reducing the use of engineering cables, and beautifying the route of the project. However, please note that when using the centralized power supply scheme, ensure that the total capacity of the centralized power supply equipment is greater than the sum of the service capacity of each subsequent load. At the same time, it should also consider that the cable diameter of the previous stage should meet the current diameter requirements of all the loads of the subsequent stage.
Centralized power supply: Connect a 12V centralized power supply at the 220V power supply, and then use a 2 * 1.0 red and black power cable to connect to the camera. The 12V power supply distance cannot exceed 100 meters. Connect a single power cable connector, and then connect the single power cable connector to the power supply connector of the surveillance camera. Centralized power supply means that 12V switching power supply is used to centrally supply power to the front-end load in the monitoring room or at an intermediate point.
Advantages: convenient construction, easy maintenance, unified control and management.
Disadvantages: DC low voltage power transmission distance is too long, high voltage loss, poor anti-interference ability during transmission.
The management objects of the data center mainly include the two parts of infrastructure and IT infrastructure, among which the infrastructure includes computer room systems such as power distribution, UPS, air conditioning, fire protection, security, and environmental monitoring; the infrastructure includes network equipment, mainframe equipment, and storage equipment Waiting for IT equipment.

Point-to-point power supply
Point-to-point power supply means direct 220V AC power from the monitoring room. Connect a separate DC12V power supply next to the camera, then connect it to the surveillance camera, and install the bracket.
Advantages: 220V AC power has low voltage loss during transmission and strong anti-interference ability.
Disadvantages: a power supply must be installed at each point, which is more troublesome to construct.
Third, PoE power supply
PoE power supply refers to the technology of providing DC power to other equipment without any changes to the existing Ethernet Cat.5 cabling infrastructure. This method is mainly used in high-definition network digital monitoring systems.
Advantages: reduce costs, flexible deployment, single port power up to 30W.
Disadvantages: High requirements for network cable quality and limited transmission distance.
Fourth, matters needing attention
When an infrared camera is used, centralized power supply is not recommended. Because the current is large when infrared is turned on, it is difficult to ensure the infrared effect of all cameras with centralized power supply.
Point-to-point power supply, taking power nearby, can save the use of wires, which is a great savings, but after-sale maintenance and extreme repair are difficult; this is for sure, centralized power supply has a benefit, maintenance and release will be simple in the future, not easy to go wrong, but If you're using wires, if you just pat your ass and walk away, then you use point-to-point power supply. For long-term, it is better to use centralized power supply.
If there are many sockets, use separate and nearby power sources. If there are not many, use centralized ones. If it is indoors, you can use a better power cord with a sheath.
When there are a large number of cameras and the power supply distance does not exceed 100 meters, it is recommended to use PoE power supply, no special construction, convenient and fast, but pay attention to the choice of PoE power supply equipment.
